Talk me down: buying $UVXY shares/calls because of monkey pox
08/02 two of the most populous states in the US declare a state of emergency for monkey pox.
I’m not an expert regarding monkey pox transmission, but I’ve seen concerns about transmission in gyms, restaurants, pools, schools, colleges, and sporting events (sound familiar?)
Also not an expert on disease outcomes but it seems particularly bad for fetuses and newborns… to the point where restrictive health measures could be put in place again.
Other economic issues: Ukraine and grain deliveries, Nancy in Taiwan while tariffs are under debate, housing debacle of inflated prices and interest rates
So, what should stop me from throwing money into a volatility ETF in this situation?
