Question about Margin, is the interest I pay slowly making it mine?

Sorry if this is has been asked before, I’m sure it has.

I’ve invested about $6,000 of my own money so far, and about $5000 in margin. If I stop using margin now, as in I don’t use any more but keep the money I’ve already invested, does the interest I pay slowly make it mine instead of margin?
