Peter Thiel, Palantir (PLTR), and the long con that is social media

Thesis: Peter Thiel backed Facebook, not because it would become this powerful advertising D2C tool, but because it would become so powerful, and so difficult to regulate that governments would pay anything to be able to reign it in.

Assumption #1: Facebook didn’t enter advertising to monetize their platform, they did it to create an economy to incentivize better predictions and analysis of user data

Assumption #2: Any private entity that outruns the US government in terms of technology would instantly be demonized by both sides of the policy spectrum

Assumption #3: governments will pay the private sector anything to topple enemies of public interest since they can essentially print money.

Everyone is talking about PLTR will become this backbone for cyber defence, but the most pressing public issue is how FAANG companies have inelastic leverage over our data. This morning I realized that Peter Thiel may have foresaw this whole time, and built the tool to arm governments to fight them while simultaneously been backing Facebook.

Call me crazy, but Thiele used both FB and PLTR to help elect trump and destabilize the US for the last 4 years, call me crazy but that sounds like how the US destabilized South America

Maybe we’re all lead to believe billionaires want to live on private islands, so we don’t notice their buying up the ground we currently stand on

My current position: 175 shares @ 9.60
