$AMC and $APE – SHF obligations to return shares to lenders question

Adam Aaron (amc ceo) tweeted that the value of AMC and APE may become 50/50%. If this happens, then wouldn’t a SHF that sold a share short “pre-dividend” then be able to buy back the AMC share at the 50% price post dividend and return for cheaper to the lender? As in the contract would say the SHF only owes the lender an AMC share (not both an amc and ape)? Thanks for any info you can shed on this or links for further reading. Cheers
